Just a little question. Not the best with this, I have the pic I want, but how do I put into the profile, what would the URL be. I can't put the address in alone for the avatar that I got on the gamespy site. Any help would be appreciated.

right click on the image that you want to use and choose the 'properties' option. a new panal will open with information about that image including its URL. then just copy and paste that URL into the your avatar field in your profile here. make sense?

I was wondering about the whole avatar thing... I am glad that I know what they are now :)

there are actually a lot of sites that feature avatars. If anyone else knows of some good ones out there post them here for us all.

you could also just create your own as well if you have access to some web space.

Are there sizing restrictions on the avatar pics for this forum?

preferred size for avatars is anything [b]under 150 pixels by 150 pixels[/b]

Anything larger just becomes annoying :), and yes i have the power to remove any avatar that is larger than this size or of insulting content.

even 150X150 seems quite large. What if it was a picture of a PC eating an apple or something inoffensive like that?

the key here is UNDER 150 x 150. 150 is the max but everyone should really just try and keep it way under this max.

a picture of a pc eating apple is not in violation of any avatar rules for this forum. on with eating apples!

i ate an apple for breakfast. It was quite tasty. Though it cost a fortune! 75 cents! what the crap is that?! I was trying to think of some food that was cheaper than 75 cents that had the letters PC and the only thing that came to mind was piece of crap. Needless to say...that DOESN'T work for my analogy.

Dude, you don't know what ur messin with. This guy is old school! Before blizzard existed, he was there. He's from a great game called "legend of blacksilver" on the C64. Don't be fooled by his simple appearance. He could take your little guy to school with magics and fighting skills u've never even dreamed. Plus, I get bonus points for making the gif myself :-P

I have to give some props to the new smurven avatar which has now taken the award for best avatar. All it needs is some spitting action.

All Smurven had to do was find that animation on some avatar site, which wouldn't be hard considering the popularity of Starcraft. Now then, Lord Slumber's, besides requiring a bit of work (though not entirely original), is taken from the obscure days of computing yore.

Hence he still has best avatar by a long shot.

I have to agree with Kyle there, as sweet as my avatar is, its pretty hard to compete with legend of black silver. Now maybe if i could get an avatar of a horde of hyrdras . . . Still though, im hurt,
