Top 10 PC Action Games 1997-2007
SadExchange — Mon, 06/02/2008 - 09:08
Thief: The Dark Project – If anyone ever asks for a game that has good stealth missions, usually they’re pointed towards the Thief Series and The Dark Project just shines in this department. In the realm of action, there needs to be a little tension and The Dark Project has quite a bit of that. Although you’ll spend quite a bit of your time keeping out of the reach of the local guards, the suspenseful action overall will keep you replaying every level to try and find a different route to complete your heist.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3)
gauntlet — Thu, 05/08/2008 - 00:27
This game has recently been named "Game of the Year 2007" for the PS3, so it's probably deserving of some attention here. It's been called "Tomb Raider meets Gears of War" which I'm inclined to agree with...with perhaps more emphasis on Tomb Raider than Gears of War.

I played through this game a few months ago and it was a fun time. Overall the graphics were smooth and brilliant, the game play was solid (although not unique), and the storyline was entertaining - think National Treasuresque.
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword

Truly, if there were a formula that Nintendo used to put games on the DS it would be something like this. 1) Take good game for a console that we can get rights to. 2) Make a sequel with a quickly thrown together plot. 3) add gimmiky shit. sure, the game was fine before, but now we need to add the stylus as a control for no reason other than we can.
God of War

There's hype in any game that's released. Some games has millions of dollars to advertise and go about a multi-month process such as Halo 3, but others aren't so lucky and have to rely on word of mouth from game site previews and play testers. God of War falls somewhere in the middle. Upon the release, excitement went into high gear for an action game that was going to not only revive the genre, but also the gaming platform it was on.
The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass
Rider of the Gr... — Mon, 02/25/2008 - 02:12
So here it is, the latest installment of the Zelda series, this time for the nintendo DS. This game is in the "Windwaker" family of cell-shaded Zelda games, and takes place in the same kind of mostly watery "world." As in windwaker sailing around is a big part of the game, but luckily, this time you dont need to worry about wind direction or anything, since you're boat is steam powered.
Crackdown - Xbox 360
SadExchange — Tue, 02/19/2008 - 10:35
Coming out on February 20th of 2007, and being accompanied by a guaranteed pass into the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, Crackdown, from the developers Realtime Worlds was released. Created by the same man who came up with the Grand Theft Auto series, Crackdown tries to lend certain elements from GTA's "sandbox" style of gameplay while also trying to separate itself from the mix.
Drawn to Life Review
Rider of the Gr... — Mon, 02/18/2008 - 06:27
Got this game for my wife for valentines day. The main reason this game is any kind of good is because of the drawing. But before that.
At the end of the day this game is a side scrolling platformer. The levels are decently long. All you do is run back and forth trying to collect coins, save townsfolk, and pick up other collectable stuff. The levels are pretty basic and overall, not terribly fun. Baddies respawn if you get too far away, and there's no map, so if you get lost theres not too much of a way to tell where you've already been. The collectable stuff doesnt even directly benifit you. You pick up powerups, and they become available in the store, for you to buy with the coins you get from all over the place. Not sure what thats about. That, and when you unlock a new skill, they dont tell you how to do it or what its for. I unlocked a backflip, figured out how to do it, and have no idea why i would ever try to pull it off.
Golden Axe: Beast Rider (PS3 & XBox 360)
gauntlet — Sat, 02/09/2008 - 11:02
This game is suppose to come out summer of 2008 - yet I've found very little information on it. The official site (http://www.sega.com/gamesite/goldenaxe/) has almost no info on it and googling seems to only bring up sites discussing if it's going to be available for both PS3 and 360.
Anyways, I'll continue to try find new information regarding the game. I mean, it's Golden Axe people! This game HAS to be good, right?
